Kicking off AER campaign

The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command is kicking off the 2012 Army Emergency Relief fundraising campaign with an autographed football auction.

Presenting the footballs are (back row, from the left): Lt. Col. Gregory Ash, deputy chief of staff, G-1, with a University of Alabama football; KC Bertling, SMDC AER financial chair; Kerrie Branson, garrison Army Community Service AER manager; Col. James Jenkins III, SMDC chief of staff, with a University of Alabama football; Capt. Alyssa Wood, IMCOM garrison AER chairwoman, Louisiana State University football; (front row, from the left): Sgt. The auction begins March 5 and final bids will be accepted until 3:10 p.m., March 15. Bids begin at $50 and must increase in $5 increments. E-mail bids to Kum.Bertling@us.army.mil. Reserve bids will be accepted. This is when a bidder submits the maximum dollar amount he is willing to pay, and the auctioneer will bid in $5 increment for that bidder until the max is reached.
