VILSECK, Germany -- Tamara Stinson gets a group hug from tiny supporters during her send-off party, here, Dec. 1. A small group gathered at the Child Development Center, noise makers in hand, to wish Stinson good luck before she leaves to compete in the national "Operation Rising Star" event at Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, beginning Dec. 11.

Numerous signs were held high to show support as a grinning Stinson thanked the community for its encouragement, adding "I'm going to bring home that trophy."

The Armywide Operation Rising Star finals will broadcast live on the Pentagon Channel, Dec. 11, beginning at 8 p.m., with the following rounds continuing Dec. 13, 15 and 17, also at 8 p.m.

Viewers can also tune in at www.pentagonchannel.mil and www.oprisingstar.com., and watch the event with other Stinson fans at the Langenbruck Center, Rose Barracks Bldg. 607, and on Main Post at the Bowling Center and Java Cafe and the USO, Bldg. 150.

Viewers will be able to vote online at www.armymwr.com/recleisure/promotions/operation_rising_star.aspx and via phone after Stinson's performance. Information will be broadcast during the event.

The winner will be announced during the televised event, Dec. 17.
