Army Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey Jr. visits the Multi-National Medical Unit on Kandahar Airfield Dec. 23. He spoke with personnel throughout the hospital and presented them with coins. The coin presentation is a tradition in the U.S. Army dating back to World War I. It is an informal way to recognize Soldiers for their accomplishments. (
