PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command's Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Kevin T. Campbell presented the Army Commendation Medal to Command Chaplain (Maj.) Kevin Pies in appreciation of his efforts with the Strong Bonds program.

The award was presented in the Pioneer Conference Room in Peterson Air Force Base's Building Three on Oct. 23.

Strong Bonds is a Congress supported program that provides funds to the Army to help Soldiers build stronger relationships. There are specialized programs for married and single Soldiers and programs to help those Soldiers who will soon deploy, are deployed or will redeploy.

Over the last year, Pies facilitated events in Colorado, Alaska, Germany, Korea and Japan. More events are planned for the coming year at various global locations.
