U.S. Army Materiel Command - Logistics Support Activity, Logistics Information Warehouse

What is it'

Logistics Support Activity's (LOGSA) mission is to serve as the Army's authoritative source for logistics data, provide logistics intelligence, life cycle support, technical advice, and assistance to the current and future force; integrate logistics information (force structure, readiness, and other logistics data) for worldwide equipment readiness, distribution analysis, and asset visibility for timely and proactive decision making. As the Army transforms to meet the needs of the battlefield of the future, changes in the Army's overall structure, operations, and protocol drive similar changes in the logistics world - moving Army logistics toward the Single Army Logistics Enterprise (SALE). The logistics demands of smaller, more mobile, rapidly-deploying task forces require transformation in the logistics processes supporting the Warfighter. Our goal is to be Army's pre-eminent provider of logistics intelligence, ensuring logistics enables Warfighters dominance on the battlefield.

What is the Army doing'

LOGSA's Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW) has emerged as the Army's single authoritative source for logistics decision support and analysis. We continue to improve the LIW by integrating data ( i.e., force structure, maintenance, supply, property, financials, readiness, pipeline metrics) from strategic to the tactical levels of the Army into valuable logistics intelligence that supports worldwide equipment readiness, distribution analysis, asset visibility, maintenance tracking, and timely and proactive decision making across the core enterprises (Materiel, Readiness, Human Capital and Services). LIW includes: WebLIDB, Parts Tracker, Readiness Predictive Analyzer (RPA,) Automated Reset Management Tool (ARMT,) ARFORGEN COP, Task Force Builder, Preset Equipment Assessment Tool (PEAT,) ILAP, and much more. Our LIW Business Intelligence (BI) dashboard tools include My RETROGRADE, My RESETPLANS, My SSA, My DEPOT and My EQUIPMENTLOSS.

Why is it important to the Army'

With the advent of modularity and the transformation into a brigade combat centric Army, the need for a central repository of logistics data and business tools that enable real-time logistics analysis worldwide is critical. The LIW enables operational and strategic focus in support of the Army G-4's 360A,A(th) readiness by providing integrated enterprise-level management capabilities for RESET, Property Management, Distribution Management, Supply Management, Financial Management, and components of Army Force Generation (ARFORGEN). It provides national-level asset, maintenance, supply chain, financial, and total cost of ownership (TCO). It further enables visibility of and resulting metrics for critical logistics component enabling critical enterprise-level analytics to be performed in support of the SALE.
