Veterans of past wars who served as Prisoners of War were honored Friday at the Pentagon's River Entrance. Honor Guards from all the military services were present as Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Corps Gen. James E. Cartwright and special guest retired Navy Adm. Jeremiah Denton, a former POW and senator, made compelling speeches about the trials and tribulations of prisoners of war and those missing in action.
