Public transport free of charge on 7 April
On the day of the local elections - April 7, 2024, public transport in Toruń will be free of charge.
Free rides will be valid throughout the entire day of elections, and not only during voting hours, in zone I - that is, in the area of the City of Toruń. The decision was made by the City Council of Toruń

Longer walk on the Boulevard
Good news for walkers. Since March 29, 2024, another part of the Philadelphia Boulevard is available for pedestrians.
The reconstruction of the Philadelphia Boulevard in Toruń is at the best, but individual parts on the Vistula are stages made available to pedestrians. So far, the inhabitants have been given the area between the pavilions from Żegalrska street up to Łazienna street. Now another fragment has been made available, from March 29 this year you can walk a new route from the Bridge Gate to Warszawska street. It is also worth noting that at one of the pavilions, the sale of ice cream has already started.
Due to the fact that the contractor is still working on the entire 1.5-kilometer stretch of boulevard, we are reminded to be particularly careful. The most intensive work is carried out in the western boulevard, where a new road is being created. Further areas are also being prepared for planting.

El Cielo Tango Festival in Torun
On 04.04.-07.2024 Toruń will turn into the capital of tango, thanks to the International Polish Cup of the Argentine Tango Tang and El Cielo Tango Festival organized by the Artus Court Culture Centre and the Milonga Mercurio Group from Friends of Zielona Góra and Bielsko-Biała.
The event will begin with a concert by Colours of Tango, which will take place on April 4 at his hour. 19:00 in the “Baj Pomorski” Theatre in Toruń. It will be an extraordinary journey to Argentina from the beginning of the last century, where one of the most colourful cultures in the world was born in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. Argentine Tango is not only a sensual and passionate dance, but also a diverse and moving music created with passion and under the influence of extreme emotions. The Colours of Tango team has a unique and unusual composition. In addition to the accordion and the singer, a harp will also appear on the stage! So it promises to be a unique musical feast, even for those who have been listening to tango for a long time. During the concert, dancers from the Tango Theatre will be presented.

Pablo Picasso in Krzywa Tower in Torun
Exhibition of works by the outstanding artist Pablo Picasso in the Krzywej Tower in Toruń from April 2, 2024. This is an amazing opportunity to get acquainted with the lesser-known work of the painter, which will delight many visitors.
Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor and cartoonist, known all over the world for unconventional and surprising works created mainly in the stream of Cubism, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Born in Spain in 1881, Picasso exhibited his artistic talent in early childhood. His work evolved over time, covering a variety of styles and techniques, from impressionism and expressionism to surrealism and constructivism. The works of this Spanish artist are now considered extremely valuable and inspiring, which results from their impact not only on the world of art, but also on mass culture and society.
From 2 April to 26 May 2024, visitors to the Krzywa Tower in Toruń will be able to see an exhibition of the artist’s works consisting of 24 lithographs. The collection of “Un Eventail” is a collection of nine color lithographs, depicting mainly acts and abstract studies of still life. Works maintained in the popular convention of cubism, popular in Pablo Picasso’s, will surprise with the selection of colors and shapes. The second part of the exhibition, the “Fifteen Drawings” collection, consists of 15 colourful and white-black lithographs from the years 1903/1904 – 1933. They depict portraits, character studies and scenes from everyday life. The owner of the works is the gallery “Epicentrum Art Gallery”, in cooperation with which it is possible to make an exhibition available to visitors in Toruń.
The exhibition is available to visitors from April 2 to May 26, 2024, during the opening hours of the Krzywa Tower - every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. To see the exhibition, you need a ticket to visit the Krzywa Tower.

Farmers Protest at 04 April 2024
Farmers say they are changing the form of protests. April 4 and 16 this year will happen!
The Nationwide Protest Committee informs about changes in the form of protests. There will be no road and city blockades. The protest takes a slightly different form.
