FORT KNOX, Ky. – Members of the Fort Knox Range Control team have taken a tradition honoring deployed service members to the next level.

What began as participating in R.E.D. Shirt Friday, a nationwide campaign that originated in 2005 to remember everyone deployed, has become a full team effort in showing support for all military overseas while also bolstering camaraderie with each other.

Dressed in matching floral red button-down shirts, the team all had the same sentiment about their weekly ritual – “It really is all about remembering everyone deployed, and having a little fun with it too.”

On Friday, Aug. 26, Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. William Fogle visited the Range Control office to commend the team for being a strong example of solidarity in thinking of our deployed Soldiers.

“It’s very fitting too, because today V Corps is bringing home 47 Soldiers,” said Fogle. “We appreciate you supporting all of our Soldiers that are out there. It really, truly means a lot.”
