FORT KNOX, Ky. — Fort Knox religious officials have announced a National Day of Prayer event to be held at Cavalry Chapel May 5, beginning at noon.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May where people of all faiths are encouraged to gather and pray for the nation.

Chaplains from the Religious Support Office are inviting those who plan to participate in the prayer service to stay afterward for a light lunch. Cavalry Chapel is located next to the headquarters of U.S. Army Human Resources Command and V Corps.
