SDDC announces 2021 Global Deployment and Distribution Excellence Awards winners
The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command headquarters chief of staff, Col. Stephen M. York, announced the winners of the 2021 Global Deployment and Distribution Excellence Awards, March 24.
The annual awards program comprises 36 award categories and is intended to recognize deserving individuals and teams within the command for their outstanding contributions to the success of SDDC’s global deployment and distribution mission during the calendar year. Many of the awards are named after former commanding generals, civilian leaders and senior enlisted leaders of SDDC.
“The quality of every award nomination received was exceptional and clearly showed that the work our Surface Warrior workforce accomplishes every day is remarkable.” said York in a message to the force.
“The winners in each of the award categories represent the very best of our deployment, distribution, specialized services, transportation and mission support performers. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments,” he added.
An awards committee comprised of two members from each brigade and headquarters directorate reviewed the nomination packets. Multiple board panels, made up of three committee members each, further evaluated and scored the nominations to select winners in each award category.
“Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you to every Surface Warrior for what you do for the command every day,” said York.
