REDSTONE ARSENAL - Command Sergeant Major Jill Crosby relinquished responsibility as the senior enlisted advisor in Army Contracting Command to Command Sgt. Maj. Julie Saorrono in a change of responsibility ceremony held at the Bob Jones Auditorium on Redstone Arsenal May 3.

ACC Commanding General Maj. Gen. Paul Pardew, who presided over the ceremony, praised both senior NCOs, describing how their hard work ethic contributed making the ACC enterprise what it is today.

“Both are perfect examples of the professional noncommissioned officer and the backbone of our Army,” said Pardew.

“She is the best NCO I have served with in my 32 years. She made a positive impact on ACC everyday,” said Pardew of Crosby.

Saorrono came to the contracting community as a 51C in 2008 – the same year ACC was established. She served in leadership roles from battalion level to contracting support brigade, ACC’s G-3 sergeant major and most recently as the Command Sgt. Maj. for the 408th Contracting Support Brigade, located in Kuwait.

Pardew said of Saorrono, she is “the perfect noncommissioned officer to be our command sergeant major to take us into the future.”

Crosby departs ACC for an assignment working directly for the Sergeant Major of the Army as the head of the sergeant major management division of Hunan Resources Command at Fort Knox, Ky.

In her last comments as the command sergeant major of ACC, Crosby said “it’s been an honor and privilege to be given the opportunity to serve as your command sergeant major of Army Contracting Command. I will carry this honor with me. I look forward to watching the continued successes of ACC.”
