FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — The Outdoor Adventure Center reopened its doors Jan. 19 with limited hours. While its normal slate of events, programs and competitions remain on hold, several of its services are available, including the pro shop, archery range and trap-and-skeet ranges.

“We’re not fully open yet,” said Sai Simram, OAC manager. “We have no programs going on, just the store and some of our facilities.”

“The archery range is open, since it is an outdoor activity, and the 3D archery range is available, too,” he continued. “We can do trap and skeet — we just can’t have a lot of people aggregating at the same time.”

The OAC operating hours are currently from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. When asked about the new schedule, Simram indicated the response from patrons has been positive.

“A lot of people have seen our schedule change, and most people are tracking,” he said.

The OAC pro shop offers a variety of hunting, fishing and outdoor equipment available for purchase. Some equipment is also available for rental, including bows and shotguns needed for the ranges.

The OAC also manages reservations for Fort Leonard Wood’s 12-bay RV Park, located at 15422 First Street.

In accordance with post-wide COVID-19 mitigation efforts, visitors to the OAC must practice social distancing and wear effective face coverings indoors, as well as outdoors if social distancing cannot be maintained. Visitors must be Department of Defense ID cardholders with access to Fort Leonard Wood.

The Outdoor Adventure Center is located at 16810 FLW K Road, Bldg. 2290.
