Why do I love America'

I love America because it is the land of opportunity. America is the land where hopes, dreams and ambitions turn into reality.

America's nickname is "the melting pot." This is a very accurate description of our great land. This phrase gives us reference to the many cultures that make up America. In America, we have merged peoples from around the world into one great culture.

"The Land of Opportunity," is a phrase that is also used when describing America. There is no other place in the world where a young man can start out as a lower-class citizen and become a prominent figure in his country.

The Declaration of Independence states that "All men are created equal." This means that no matter what religion, color, creed or national origin, a person is entitled to the same benefits of their fellow Americans. America gives everyone the opportunity to excel in every phase of life. All Americans have the right to education.

I believe that America provides for its citizens and shares a special tide of togetherness. Americans are concerned about the welfare of others. Organizations such as the United Way, Red Cross and the Salvation Army are ready and willing to help any American in need.

Frances Scott Key best summarized a moment in American history in his "Star Spangled Banner." Key used the phrase "land of the free and home of the brave." This line referenced the freedom that the American people have to make their own decisions and actions. Americans enjoy the privilege of speaking or writing anything they want.

In America, there are no restrictions placed on religion. American are also free to live wherever they choose. America has 50 great states. As a citizen of Alabama, I am truly proud of the state in which I live.

When I think of the phrase "home of the brave," my mind goes back to the many brave Soldiers who have fought for our country. I think of men and women who laid down their lives to defend what we stand for. I think of the Soldiers throughout the years that have taken pride in serving our great country.

On this Independence Day, we should all take a moment to reflect on what our nation represents to us.

Opportunity, togetherness and freedom. These are what America represents to me.

That is why I love America.
