What Makes This Cadet Stand Out From Their Peers?

Cadet Hoyle is a stellar Cadet who leads by example both inside and outside of the classroom. He is a Division III (DIII) cross country and indoor/outdoor track athlete that brings a competitive streak to his performance in Army ROTC. He broke the national record for the 800 meter race with a time of 1:50.17 in the NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships. His list of athletic accolades are extensive, ranging from 2019 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field All-American to winning a bronze medal in the 800 meter race at the NCAA DIII Track and Field Indoor National Championships. While excelling on the fields of friendly strife, he maintains a 3.79 GPA and was selected to serve as Cadet Company First Sergeant for the spring semester.

In The Cadet's Own Words:

I joined Army ROTC after realizing my potential for leadership during my time as an enlisted Maine Guardsman going through Basic Training. I realized that ROTC was a great way to both earn a degree and sharpen my skills as a leader. Since then, I have been honored to learn alongside many talented peers. ROTC fosters an environment of self and organizational-improvement and friendly competition. ROTC has proved to be a huge blessing to me, and I am very appreciative to all who have supported me through this program.

In my eyes, the greatest leader of all time, who motivates me each day is Jesus of Nazareth. He is the definition of a selfless leader, who willingly died for those who followed him. He led a group of the most unlikely men who would eventually father the most widely followed religion in history. I plan to emulate His example in whatever position I hold in the Army.
