The 2d Cavalry Regiment will depart in roughly 40 serials from Rose Barracks, Germany and conduct a tactical road march south to the Amberg and Hohenfels Training Areas on Oct. 15 and Oct. 18, 2018. This movement will consist of nearly 1,000 Strykers and other military vehicles. 2CR is scheduled to begin departure starting Oct. 15 at 8 a.m. in support of Dragoon Ready, a 7th Army Training Command/Joint Multinational Readiness Center led exercise.

The tactical road march will be traveling on the Bundesstrasse B85 west of the Grafenwoehr Training Area between Amberg and Sulzbach-Rosenberg. The roads traveled will be in the proximity of the following areas: Amberg, Kastl, Lauterhofen and Ursensollen. Drivers are advised to use caution when driving near military convoys and should expect increased traffic as these vehicles move slowly and have limited visibility.

Dragoon Ready is designed to enhance readiness and qualify 2CR in Unified Land Operations. Roughly 3,000 2d Cavalry Regiment Soldiers will participate.
