An inspection team, which included members from Belarus and Russia, was on hand to observe U.S. Army Europe's exercise Saber Strike from June 19-21.

In accordance with the provisions of Vienna Document 2011 on Confidence and Security-building Measures, a Belarusian team and one colonel from the Russian Federation completed a specified area inspection in Lithuania. The inspection team, accompanied by U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency and Lithuanian Verification Agency escorts, received briefs on U.S. activities at Pabrade and Kazlu Ruda.

U.S. troops from the Minnesota Army National Guard, and Task Force Phoenix, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade and 10th Mountain Division supported the inspection team. A variety of information exchanges, area inspections, evaluation visits, observation visits and other military-to-military contacts took place according to VDOC11 provisions.
