WIESBADEN, Germany -- The Civilian Human Resources Agency Northeast/Europe Region is now accepting applications for the Army in Europe Youth Summer Hire Program.

In an official memorandum on this year's program, Maj. Gen. Timothy McGuire, U.S. Army Europe's deputy commanding general urged local military leaders to support the program to help ensure the well-being and development of family members.

"The Summer Hire Program enables us to have a direct and positive influence on the youth of our community by providing meaningful employment and valuable work experience," McGuire said in the memo. "The experience gained will help our youth prepare for their educational and career goals, and will offer us an opportunity to gain perspectives and ideas from the next generation."

The program will provide jobs in general clerical and light laborer positions to U.S. family member dependents ages 14-22.

The application period runs through May 12, and the program will run from July 10-Aug. 18 throughout Europe.
