241st Army Birthday Ball in Quad Cities

Maj. General Kevin O'Connell, commanding general, U.S. Army Sustainment Command, joins Rock Island Arsenal leaders in a receiving line while welcoming Quad Cities community members and RIA personnel to the 2016 Army Birthday Ball in Bettendorf, Iowa, at the Waterfront Convention Center, June 17.The event included a receiving line, traditional toasts to the Army and others, a traditional Army flag streamer ceremony, and a ceremony honoring missing and fallen Soldiers.William "Bill" Albracht, highly decorated Vietnam War veteran and Quad Cities native, was the keynote speaker for the event.Albracht talked about his service in Vietnam, and he emphasized the importance of the Soldier's oath to serve.About 450 people attended the event.To view more pictures from the Army Ball visit ASC's Flickr page at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/army_sustainment_command/albums/72157670027223395 (Photos by Kevin Fleming, ASC Public Affairs)
