SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, HI--Mrs. Linda Odierno, spouse of the U.S. Army Chief of Staff (CSA), Gen. Raymond Odierno, continued her tour throughout the island of Oahu by taking the time to stop by and visit the Schofield Barracks Health Clinic (SBHC), on Feb. 12, 2015.
Odierno was given a complete briefing on the SBHC by the Command Team; Col. Peter Eberhardt, Commander, SBHC, and Sgt. Major Douglas Wallace, Sgt. Major, SBHC.
During the briefing, Odierno was impressed with the SBHC's capabilities and by the large number of beneficiaries, whom the SBHC is charged with providing care.
The SBHC staff members were all happy to have Mrs. Odierno visit and provided her with the 'Aloha Spirit'.
"We are really proud that she has chosen to come and look at our work here. We are a group of professionals who are fulfilling the Army Family Covenant, we are the people who take care of the Soldiers and their families, and we are just delighted that Mrs. Odierno would want to see the work that we do." said Dr. George Rahaim, Clinical Psychologist, Child & Family Behavioral Health Services, SBHC, when asked about the visit.
Staff Sgt. Kaelin Newsome, Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), Pharmacy Services said of Mrs. Odierno' s visit, "I think it is a nice opportunity to have the Army's most senior spouse come through and see what it is that we do. It is important that family members understand our efforts in providing them with exceptional healthcare. We work hard in the pharmacy and we are proud, we want everyone to know that."
While touring the facility, Odierno noted the unique balance between SBHC's modern day capabilities along with maintaining the buildings' historical values.
At the end of the tour, Odierno thanked everyone for their efforts in providing excellent care for the Soldier's and families of Schofield Barracks.
