To celebrate National Physical Therapy Month in October, MEDDAC Fort Drum will host a physical therapist injury prevention and human performance optimization educational event from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Atkins Functional Fitness Facility.

All Soldiers, Family Members and beneficiaries are welcome to attend.

Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the following: how well they move; movement patterns or asymmetries that may increase the risk for injuries and how to prevent them; an energy-efficient, less painful way to run; proper posture and ways to minimize stress on the spine; the Performance Triad and how to improve sleep quality, nutrition and activity levels.

Organizers stress that this is not a medical evaluation and treatment plan.

Knowledge is power; optimize your physical well-being!
