Mag Athnasios is the Executive Director, Systems Integration & Engineering, at the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC). In 2007 he was selected for promotion to the Senior Executive Service.
Mr. Athnasios has served as a civil servant for more than 23 years. In 2007, he was assigned as Acting Executive Director for TARDEC's Engineering Business Group. Previous assignments at TARDEC include Associate Director and Deputy Associate Director for TARDEC software engineering.
Prior to joining TARDEC, Mr. Athnasios worked in the Product Assurance and Testing division of the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, as a Department of Defense representative in an exchange program with the U.K. Ministry of Defense and as a Computer Engineer at Woolwich Arsenal in London.
Mr. Athnasios has a master's degree in software engineering from Oakland University, Rochester, MI, in addition to a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut. He also has graduated from several programs at the Defense Acquisition University's Defense Systems Management College, and he is an Army Acquisition Corps member.
His personal decorations include the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service and nomination for the Army Materiel Command Outstanding Personnel of the Year 2002.
