ANSBACH, Germany (May 22, 2014) - The annual JROTC European Drill Competition of the Department of Defense-Europe high school teams took place in Ansbach on May 17, 2014. About 145 cadets, many accompanied by their proud parents, came together in Hangar 2, to compete for the coveted trophies. The participating schools came from Ansbach, Baumholder, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Vilseck, and Schweinfurt.

After a day filled with twirling rifles and marching in squads, color guards and platoons, the final results were announced. In the category of "Squad" Ansbach made first place for the fifth time in a row. Stuttgart took first place in "Platoon," closely followed by Ansbach and Vilseck. In the category "Color Guard" Ansbach took home the third place, right after Stuttgart and Baumholder. Marveen Gentillon, a senior at Ansbach High School, placed second in "One Man Exhibition."
