CAMP HUMPHREYS -- The Camp Humphreys Community Theatre production of "Oliver!" completed a successful run, featuring three dinner shows and a matinee, Dec. 24. This production included more than 50 roles for cast and crew, along with more than 6,000 contributed volunteer hours. The musical production was based on the book "Oliver Twist," by Charles Dickens. The role of Oliver was played by Alex Williams, a fifth-grader at Humphreys Central Elementary School and in his third performance for the theatre group. This production also featured some of the loveable characters people have grown to enjoy, including the Artful Dodger (played by Kayden Bastion and Hunter Hoffman), Fagin, leader of the thieves (played by Sgt. Peter Adams), and the sinister villain Bill Sikes (played by Mike Capps). The theatre group is made up entirely of volunteers, from the producers to the stage crew. They are always looking for new volunteers to help with any aspect of the theatre; no experience is necessary.
