GRAFENWOEHR, Germany -- We've all experienced it -- that moment when you finish a really good book, place it in your lap and sigh because it's over. You look around, wondering what's next, teetering on the line between fiction and reality.
Books take us to another world, they allow us to dream and learn, they spark ideas and feelings and sometimes a book is so powerful, you simply need to talk about. Luckily for the Grafenwoehr Community, there is Book Club.
Hosted by the Grafenwoehr Library, a small group of inquisitive readers convened at the Java Café, March 7, for the monthly Book Club to discuss "Juliet, Naked" by Nick Hornby.
"It's not an easy read," said Joann Ogreenc, public services librarian at the Grafenwoehr Library. "Hornby has something to say and you have to really soak up each line."
Some agreed, some didn't, igniting conversations that flowed effortlessly around the room. Opinions held strong during discussion questions as the group dissected each character, plot twist and concept of the literary work.
Book Club meets the first Thursday of every month, 7 p.m. at the Java Café. Join in on the fun April 4 as the club discusses "The Glass Castle" a memoir by Jeannette Walls, or contact the Grafenwoehr Library for more information.
