YONGSAN GARRISON, Republic of Korea -- Volunteers were recognized for providing their selfless service to the Yongsan community during the Volunteer of the Quarter Recognition Ceremony here, Dec. 21.
Kimberly Moore, Army Volunteer Corps Coordinator program manager for U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan's Army Community Service, congratulated all of the nominees for their hard work and dedication throughout the year in support of the community.
"It feels great to be able to provide a ceremony to give recognition to those individuals that well deserve it," Moore said. "I hope that everyone continues to receive get satisfaction for their volunteering experience to helping others."
The VOQ ceremony recognizes and honors the military and civilian volunteers, who go out their way to assist in helping build a better ROK-U.S. alliance.
"It's a great honor to be recognized as Volunteer of the Quarter," said Magielyn Rogers, a volunteer at USAG Yongsan's ACS. "This definitely came as a surprise that I wasn't expecting at all, but I really appreciate everyone that nominated me for it."
After the certificates were presented, Paul Stuart, deputy to the garrison commander for USAG Yongsan, thanked all of the nominees for their service to the Area II Community. He also reemphasized the important role that everyone plays in helping to our ROK-US alliance stronger through our partnership.
"I want to thank all of the nominees for their support," Stuart said, "Your hard work and dedication will never go unrecognized and it is my pleasure to show my appreciation to all our volunteers."
