What is it?

The Army MWR Services Survey conducted by the Marketing Research and Analysis Branch of the Family and MWR Programs directorate, U.S. Army Installation Management Command, seeks to identify what morale, welfare and recreation programs customers are interested in, whether they are using available services and if so, how satisfied they are with the programming their garrison has to offer. The survey will involve randomly selected participants from Army communities and will remain open from March through May.

What has the Army done?

The Army has selected participants from 75 garrisons. The sampling includes approximately 70,000 Active Duty Soldiers; 49,000 spouses of Active Duty Soldiers; 73,000 DoD Civilians and 31,000 Retirees. Those who were randomly selected to participate will be emailed and mailed instructions in March. Follow-up reminders will be sent by postal mail.

What continued efforts does the Army have planned for the future?

Results from this survey will be analyzed and compiled into a report by the end of 2012.

The Army will continue to examine the level of customer satisfaction and use of Family and MWR Programs and services. As trends are identified, adjustments will be made based upon customer feedback.

Data collected through this survey will be used by garrison and HQ IMCOM leaders to: make decisions on what programs to continue; impact decisions on new construction projects; justify funding to improve existing programs; justify funding for new programs; and improve MWR programs overall.

Why is this important to the Army?

The Army is striving to improve the quality of service in MWR programs at garrisons throughout the world in a fiscally responsible manner.

Simply put, customers know what works best and where improvements are needed. This survey connects their assessments with the leaders who shape the future direction of these services.
