PITTSBURGH -- The 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) conducted a change of command ceremony at its headquarters to pass on the torch to a new commanding general, Dec. 10.

More than 250 local Army Reserve Soldiers, military dignitaries, including Maj. Gen. Luis R. Visot, commanding general of 377th Theater Sustainment Command, and community leaders gathered for the ceremony to welcome the new commander.

Brig. Gen. Bud R. Jameson Jr. assumed command of the 316th ESC from Brig. Gen. Peter S. Lennon, who has been serving as the commander since September 2009. Jameson comes to the 316th ESC from the 926th Engineer Brigade, Montgomery, Ala., and will be deploying with the command to Kuwait in the spring of 2012.

Jameson has served more than 34 years in various military leadership positions including a 13-month deployment to Iraq as the Deputy Team Chief of the Baghdad-8 Provincial Reconstruction Team.

"I expect we will do well while deployed to Kuwait, and it will be a great honor to be in command of one-twentieth of the United States Army Reserve Command," Said Jameson.

Lennon was the commander for two years and helped prepare Soldiers from the 316th ESC and down trace units for deployment during his tenure. During that time Brig. Gen. Lennon developed a strong and passionate vision for the 316th and its Soldiers.

As part of the tradition, Lennon, of Newport News, Va., handed off the unit guidon to Jameson during the ceremony.

"That was a tough speech to follow and it was even harder to let go of that guide on." said Lennon after Maj. Gen. Luis R. Visot, gave his remarks. Visot gave an energetic speech as he introduced the new commander and thanked Lennon for all his devoted work.

Lennon has moved on to his new position with the 75th Training Division in Texas.
