LATHAM, N.Y. -- Jose Yenderrozos (left), system administrator, establishes network communications for Maj. Curtis Cole, engineer cell, both of whom as assigned to U.S. Army North. Yenderros was helping Cole establish internet communication Aug. 27 in preparation of standing up the Defense Coordinating Element Region II Main Operations Center here prior to the arrival Hurricane Irene in anticipation of requests for federal assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is the overall lead for the federal response effort for Hurricane Irene.
