FORT STEWART, Ga. - In 2008 Alma was diagnosed with her first polycystic brain tumor.

The tumor was removed and she spent the next year in physical therapy and occupational therapy. Two years later a "small spot" had been seen in her MRI. We once more faced the fact that her tumor was back. Alma had the second brain tumor removed in March of 2010.

Alma attends Bartlett Middle School in the Special Education program and she competes in Special Olympics in which she took third in her group for bowling. Alma attends therapy three times a week. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy at Memorial Health in Savannah, GA.

Alma also loves to draw and recently won the invitation cover for "I Have Marks to Make" a rehabilitation program that uses art as therapy at Memorial Health in Savannah, Ga. Her art work is on display at Telfair's Jepson Center for the Arts.

Alma is the daughter of Genevieve Espinosa and Capt. Louis Espinosa of the Division Surgeon Section, DSTB, Fort Stewart.
