FORT STEWART, Ga. - Family Members and Soldiers are finding an alternative to going online and booking vacation getaways, cruises and tours at Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation's Leisure Travel Office, but for those who don't know it, the Leisure Activities Center has moved to building 419 at Fort Stewart.

Each month, more than 300 Soldiers and Family Members take advantage of the discounted travel and attraction prices that Leisure Travel offers.

"People don't really know we exist, but they should choose Leisure Travel because customers realize they save so much more money when they choose Leisure Travel," said Marquita Polk, leisure travel specialist.

Leisure Travel's services available to customers include cruises and vacation spots such as Mexico and the Caribbean. Discounted local and regional attractions include Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla., the Jacksonville (Fla.) Zoo, Six Flags over Georgia in Atlanta, Old Town Trolley Tours in Savannah and more.

When customers book a special getaway, Polk said that Leisure Travel has nothing to hide when it comes to fees, as an online travel booking site may do. There is no tax when using Leisure Travel; the price for each attraction or getaway goes directly to the price of the excursion.

Chris Brown and Megan Motes, being one of the many Family Members and Soldiers that have taken advantage of Leisure Travel's discounted military prices, visited the agency in search of their possible trip to Busch Gardens.

"Their service is definitely a plus when booking trips," said Motes. "They're straight to the point."

Along with no tax, Leisure Travel allows customers to make payments before their travel.

All tickets are discounted from their original price, which then allows Leisure Travel to work with customers and their budgets. Customers are told what they can afford, or "coached" with what and where they want to go.
