SEMBACH, Germany - The Department of War announced the death of a U.S. Army 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command Soldier who was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.

Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, was killed in action on July 17, 2026, during an enemy attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan. Gonzales was assigned to 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 52d Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Ansbach, Germany. She served as a 14P Air and Missile Defense Crewmember.

“We are profoundly saddened by the loss of Pvt. Isabella Gonzales,” said Brig. Gen. Glenn Henke, commanding general of the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command. “She gave the ultimate sacrifice for her country and will always be remembered as a hero. Our hearts go out to her family, friends, and teammates. Our immediate priority is ensuring they have the resources and support they need to process this grief together.”

Pvt. Gonzales enlisted in the U.S. Army in April 2025. She has been a member of the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense command since January 2026. She will be posthumously promoted to private first class.
