POV Inspection Facility. USAG Ansbach is relocating the inspection site within walking distance of the registration office and eventually plans to co-locate the VPC as well.

ANSBACH, Germany – U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach is improving the vehicle inspection and registration process for community members by relocating the Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Inspection Facility from Barton Barracks to Katterbach Kaserne.

The intent behind the move is to bring all three key vehicle in-processing steps — Vehicle Pickup, Inspection, and Registration — closer together, streamlining the experience for Soldiers, civilians and families.

Currently, U.S. military personnel in Ansbach complete vehicle in-processing in three steps:

  1. Pick up your vehicle at the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC)
  2. Get your vehicle inspected at the POV Inspection Facility
  3. Register your vehicle at the Vehicle Registration Office (VRO)

To make this process more convenient, USAG Ansbach is relocating the inspection site within walking distance of the registration office and eventually plans to co-locate the VPC as well.

The move improves customer service by bringing vehicle-related services to one convenient area on Katterbach Kaserne.
