Fort Huachuca, AZ –The United States Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) is excited to announce the implementation of the Army Unified Directory Service (AUDS), a cutting-edge cloud-based directory and device management solution. This transition marks a significant step in transforming Army operations and extending capabilities for the warfighter, ensuring seamless connectivity and enhanced security across the globe.
AUDS is designed to streamline user and device management and will converge all unclassified Army directories into a single, unified network structure. As part of this initiative, the Army will migrate all unclassified end user computers to AUDS by September 30, 2025. Currently, 28% of the Army has already adopted this transformative solution.
This modernization will benefit Soldiers in all five theaters of operation: CONUS, Europe, Pacific, Korea, and Southwest Asia. By enabling seamless user and device mobility worldwide, AUDS enhances the capability of the Army, ensuring that all Soldiers have access to necessary resources regardless of their location.
Key enhancements of the AUDS implementation include:
1. No VPN Required: Users can access Army 365 applications such as Teams and Outlook from compliant devices without the need for a VPN, streamlining communication and collaboration.
2. Global System Mobility: Standardized network access controls provide immediate connectivity, allowing for rapid deployment and responsiveness.
3. Single Sign-On (SSO): Leveraging Army 365 accounts, users will experience fewer PIN prompts, simplifying their access to essential applications.
In addition to these user experience benefits, AUDS enhances security by applying advanced threat detection and endpoint protection measures, ensuring government data remains secure. By utilizing artificial intelligence, AUDS is integrated with a robust threat intelligence network, allowing for proactive responses to emerging threats.
To facilitate this transition effectively, NETCOM will configure all new systems to meet the AUDS standard immediately. Army commands are encouraged to submit required software to the AUDS approved product list via the Army Enterprise Service Management Portal.
NETCOM also conducts weekly administrator training and leader orientation sessions to ensure a smooth transition, with scheduling available through the designated training mailbox.
This innovative transformation represents NETCOM's commitment to enhancing the capabilities of the Army and supporting the warfighter in accomplishing their mission, no matter where duty calls.
