Following a thorough review of submissions, 22 winners from across the AMC enterprise, including five from CECOM headquarters and its MSCs, have been selected to advance to the Army’s MG Keith L. Ware Communications Awards Competition.
Earlier this year, participants from across the Army Materiel Command submitted their work for the 2024 David G. Harris Public Affairs Competition. The competition celebrates exceptional contributions from public affairs professionals throughout the Army.
The KLW competition, which is still being judged at the Army level, recognizes Soldiers and Department of the Army civilians for their excellence in achieving the objectives of the Army Public Affairs Program. The annual competition, conducted by the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs on behalf of the Secretary of the Army, aims to recognize and inspire excellence in Army public affairs.
During this year’s David G. Harris competition, CECOM’s G9 Strategic Communications team was recognized for two notable publications: The Dash, a monthly publication that highlights stories from around the command, and The Proof, a quarterly publication distributed at Aberdeen Proving Ground, both in print and electronically.
Individually, winners from CECOM, the Army Materiel Logistics Command (AMLC), and the Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) demonstrated remarkable skill in graphic design, video production, writing, and community engagement. Their efforts highlight the importance of clear, effective communication across AMC’s major subordinate commands and reflect the Army’s commitment to readiness, lethality, and strategic messaging.
The public affairs work performed by CECOM, AMLC, and TYAD professionals exemplifies the importance of clear and compelling communication in advancing the Army’s readiness and mission. These contributions are vital in telling the Army’s story with accuracy, impact, and professionalism.
