ADELPHI, MD – Army Futures Command’s new All-Domain Sensing (ADS) Cross-Functional Team (CFT) has begun executing its mission. The ADS CFT will accelerate the alignment of integrated sensing capabilities by informing and accelerating requirements that harness the power of data, contribute to decision speed, facilitate informed maneuver, and increase lethality.

“I am very proud of our team’s hard work as we prepare to take on this new mission,” said Mike Monteleone, director of the ADS CFT. “We have undergone significant mission analysis to inform our way ahead. Now it’s time to get to work to ensure enhanced understanding and decision-making for the Army.”

The ADS CFT is headquartered in Adelphi, Maryland, with a satellite location in Huntsville, Alabama.

The ADS CFT team will partner with teams across the Army and Joint force to inform requirements and shape other tenants of doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel and facilities (DOTMLPF-P).

The ADS CFT stood up following the completion of the Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing/Space (APNT/Space) CFT’s mission.

As one of the initial CFTs created to address Army modernization priorities, the APNT/Space CFT was instrumental in advancing the Army’s first PNT Directed Requirements in the ground domain with the Mounted Assured PNT System (MAPS) and the Dismounted APNT System (DAPS) programs of record. In the aviation and precision-guided munitions domains, the CFT informed experimentation and PNT integration efforts, that are on track for continued success.

The APNT/Space CFT codified enduring partnerships with the United States Space Force and intelligence community to accelerate critical space-based capabilities and requirements; informed multiple high altitude and navigation warfare requirements; and ultimately served as an enabler for Army and Joint enterprise experimentation in denied/degraded environments with the PNT Assessment Experiment.

CFTs have proven to be effective in accelerating capabilities and informing requirements. The ADS CFT will pursue transformation opportunities that contribute to the continuous transformation of the Army.
