FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz., - As the year 2023 comes to a close, holiday events are being celebrated throughout the country and like many communities in Southern Arizona, parades are a great way to spread the joy and cheer of the merry season. Likewise, on 2 Dec. Maj. Gen. Christopher L. Eubank, Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) Commanding General and Brig. Gen. Richard T. (Rick) Appelhans, Commanding General U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (USAICOE) & Fort Huachuca joined Mayor Clea McCaa II and other civic leaders from the City of Sierra Vista to celebrate the community’s 64th Annual Christmas Light Parade.
This year’s parade theme of "Christmas Around the World" featured more than 70 colored floats from all over Cochise County, which filled the night sky along Fry boulevard with a collage of bright glowing lights. Hosted by the Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce, the Annual Christmas Light Parade ran from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in a route encircling Veterans Memorial Park. The event attracted hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators from Sierra Vista and the surrounding communities of Southern Arizona and Cochise County.
In addition, both Generals, Eubank and Appelhans also joined Mayor McCaa and other city officials as they participated in the panel judging for the best parade floats.
