Army leaders are encouraging the Fort Knox community to join them in recognizing Denim Day April 26, 2023, as part of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.
FORT KNOX, Ky. – Army leaders are encouraging the Fort Knox community to join them in recognizing Denim Day April 26 as part of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.
First established in 1999 following an Italian Supreme Court decision that overturned a rape conviction citing the victim’s tight jeans meant she’d given consent, Denim Day has become a global movement to raise awareness about sexual assault and harassment.
All Fort Knox personnel are encouraged to wear denim jeans or other denim clothing without holes and in good taste during work hours, mission permitting.
In addition to Denim Day, tables will be set up at the Fort Knox Main Exchange every Tuesday throughout April where community members can sign pledges in support of sexual assault awareness and prevention.
