Members of U.S. Army Human Resources Command kicked off the command's observance of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month with a cake cutting ceremony and proclamation signing in the Lt. Gen. Timothy J. Maude Complex at Fort Knox April 2.
The event was the first of many that HRC will be conducting this month to highlight awareness and prevention of sexual assault and sexual harassment in the Army.
Major Gen. Jason Evans, HRC commanding general, said sexual assault and sexual harassment impact cohesion and readiness, and while the Army has made strides in addressing the issues, more remains to be done. He urged everyone to take an active role in prevention by speaking up when they witness this type of behavior.
Evans also signed HRC's proclamation, reinforcing the unit's commitment to fight against sexual assault and harassment.
