Command Sgt. Maj. Jon R. Stanley is the first Command Sergeant Major of U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC), having assumed that role when the Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) became the CCDC upon transition into the Army Futures Command (AFC) on Feb. 3, 2019. Prior to that, Stanley had served as the RDECOM Command Sergeant Major since Sept. 13, 2018.
Stanley entered the U.S. Army in October 1990 and completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training as a Combat Engineer, Military Occupational Specialty 12B, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Command Sgt. Maj. Stanley's other assignments include: D Company, 10th Engineer Battalion, Kitzengen and Schweinfurt Germany; C Company 41st Engineer Battalion, 501st PIR, Fort Richardson, Alaska; HHC 577th Engineer Battalion, Sapper Leader Course, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Platoon Sgt. -- C Company, 307th Engineer Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 1st Sgt. -- A Company 27th Engineer Battalion (C)(A),Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Command Sgt. Maj. -- 3rd BDE Special Troops BN, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Command Sgt. Maj. -- 4th Engineer Battalion, Fort Carson, Colorado; Command Sgt. Maj. --4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; and Engineer Sgt. Maj. in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff -- Engineer, U.S. Army Europe, Wiesbaden, Germany. He has served in all leadership positions from Team Leader through Command Sgt. Maj. His previous assignment was Command Sgt. Maj. of the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Stanley's military education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course, Sapper Leader Course, Basic and Advanced Airborne School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Summer and Winter Mountain Warfare School, Ranger School and the Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course. Command Sgt. Maj. Stanley is
a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 58.

Stanley and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 23 years. They have three children and two grandchildren.
