Spc. Danielle Thompson is a native of Montego Bay, Jamaica, but also calls Sacramento, California, home.

She has been a part of the Nation's best fighting force for more than one year and serves as a supply specialist and unit armor for the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Infantry Division.

She joined the military for the opportunity to continue her education and fulfill her childhood ambition of becoming a medical doctor.

Thompson says her best experience of being a 'Big Red One' Soldier came when she was selected to be part of the 1st Inf. Div.'s Color Guard and represented the 1st Inf. Div. during the 100th year Anniversary Ceremony and at the U.S. Army vs. Ohio State college football game.

Thompson gets her inspiration from her mother because she keeps Thompson focused on succeeding in life and overcoming challenges.

Her favorite quote from her mother is, "No matter how bad it may seem you have it, there's always someone who has got it worse than you."
