There's still time to pre-register for a March 31 gardening-education workshop being co-hosted by the University of Missouri Extension and Phelps County Master Gardeners in Rolla.
The Growing Green gardening class is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Missouri University of Science & Technology's Havener Center, 1346 N. Bishop Ave. in Rolla.
Monday is the deadline to pre-register, which can be done by visiting the Phelps County Extension Office, 200 North Main in Rolla, or calling 573.458.6260. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Course fees are $20 for both morning and afternoon sessions or $10 for a single session.
Same-day registration will also be held prior to the event.
Participants will have more than 20 different topics of study to choose from, including Missouri's water resources, vegetable gardening, sustainable landscaping, rooftop gardening, seed starting, fruit trees, native plants for wildlife and grazing, lasagna gardening, soil basics, rain gardens, horizontal bee hives and many more.
