JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas (Feb. 5, 2018) -- Soldiers from the 925th Contracting Battalion cased their colors in preparation for deployment in support of the 10th Mountain Division and Operation Inherent Resolve during a ceremony Feb. 2 at Fort Drum, New York.
For the second time in its very brief history, the battalion will assume its role as the Regional Contracting Center-Operation Inherent Resolve headquarters.
"The impact of our operations will be far-reaching, as we will have responsibility for contracting support across Iraq," said Lt. Col. Jessie Griffith, the 925th CBN commander. "I feel absolute confidence in our ability to tackle this task and overcome the trials we will experience."
The 925th CBN will provide and oversee vital supply, service and construction contracting support to CJTF-OIR.
"Our contracts will improve the quality of life for every deployed Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine, provide crucial logistics support across the country, and increase the security of our homes away from home," Griffith said. "Our goals are simple in word, but complex in execution. We will work to reinforce stability through economic improvement by focusing our contracting efforts on the employment of Iraq businesses and citizens. Finally, and, most importantly, our contracts will enable the military men and women of CJTF-OIR and 10th MD to fully concentrate on their mission of building and enhancing the capacity and capability of our partners in Iraq."
The 925th CBN and MICC-Fort Drum provide cradle-to-grave contract support for supplies, services and construction in support of the Fort Drum Garrison as well as the 10th MD and its supported elements. Fort Drum's ranges, training areas and facilities serve as an essential training platform for Reserve component forces and units of the New York Army National Guard. The 925th CBN and MICC-Fort Drum are subordinate to the 419th Contracting Support Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, that with another brigade and two field directorate offices make up the MICC. The MICC is headquartered at Join Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
