ANSBACH, Germany (Feb 24, 2017) -- Supported by great applause and cheers from their teammates some 30 German and 24 U.S. employees of U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach were honored with certificates for their personal years of service to the U.S. military, accumulating together 1,345 years.

In his remarks USAG Ansbach Commander Col. Benjamin C. Jones thanked the honorees for their "significant contributions" and daily support to the garrison community.

Jones pointed out that at a time, when almost every part of life is shaped by constant changes, "The importance of longevity and loyalty can't be emphasized often enough."

"It is you who we depend on for continuity, institutional knowledge and for troubleshooting problems when they arise," said Jones and thanked the honorees for their "tireless efforts of supporting Soldiers and their families."

Accompanied by Ingrid Schwarz, from the government of Middle-Franconia, Thomas Deffner, Ansbach's 2nd Mayor and the Illesheim Mayor Heinrich Förster, as well as Suzie Pabler, USAG Ansbach Works Council Chairperson, Jones presented honorees their respective certificates, including five, ten, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service. Also presented were Bavarian certificates of honor for 25 and 40 years of service, signed by the Bavarian Minister of State, for Labor and Social Affairs, Emilia Müller.
