HONOLULU-- Natalie Freeman, U.S. Pacific Command's (PACOM) Senior Development Advisor for U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) visited Regional Health Command-Pacific (RHC-P) on Dec. 15. During the meeting Freeman received a command briefing which included an in-depth discussion with RHC-P leaders focusing on scaling up interagency global health engagements. Brig. Gen. Ronald T. Stephens, deputy commanding general, RHC-P, provided Freeman with background on the U.S. Army Medicine transformation in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region and the various capabilities of RHC-P's nine direct reporting units. Freeman presented an overview of the USAID organization, portfolios and capabilities with a focus on the PACOM area of responsibility. RHC-P's future collaboration with USAID include areas of interest such as maternal and child health, environmental health, infectious disease and health systems strengthening.
