K-16 hosted its 2016 Fall Festival, Oct. 14, in the K-16 Community Activity Center (CAC) parking lot. Thanks to pleasant weather, community members, Soldiers and families enjoyed the day.

Opening remarks were delivered by U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan garrison commander Col. J. Scott Peterson and commander of 2nd Battalion (Assault), 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade Lt. Col. G. Patrick Schuck. Both commanders welcomed the community and wished everyone a great time at the K16 Fall Festival

Throughout the day, various events and performances were set up for the community.

The taekwondo demonstration, prepared by the 33rd Yong-in University Taekwondo Team, attracted lots of people. People cheered when demonstrators successfully kicked bricks in mid-air during a somersault demonstration. "I was really excited to show my taekwondo skills in front of so many people and especially American Soldiers. It was a unique and honoring opportunity for the team to advertise taekwondo to foreigners," said An, Eun-sol, member of the 33rd Yong-in University Taekwondo Team.

Other performances include Samulnori (traditional Korean music that is played by four instruments: gong, zing, drum, and jang-gu) performances, K-POP performances by including Park Hye-shin, BABYBOO, UJIN and ZBEAR, the famous Nanta(Drum) Performance and Dan-dae Children Center's children's song performance.

"I was impressed by the children's song performance," said Sgt. Lee Sung-muk, Senior KATUSA from 2-2 AHB. "I volunteered to help these children in the past. To see them on stage today makes me feel proud and special."

Department of Defense Identification Card holders participated in prize drawings held through the entire day which resulted in winning some fantastic prizes.

"I was really happy when my number was drawn out of the box. I also was very energetic throughout the day thanks to exceptional performances, especially the Taekwondo demonstrations," said Pfc. Alex Billy, aircraft electrician from 2-2 AHB.
