TOOELE ARMY DEPOT, Utah -- Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) hosted a change of command ceremony June 28, formally passing leadership of the depot from Colonel Roger L. McCreery to his successor, Colonel James Brown.

Brigadier General Richard B. Dix, Commander of Joint Munitions Command, Rock Island, Illinois, presided over the ceremony, praising the work accomplished under Colonel McCrery's direction, as well as great expectations for the depot under Colonel Brown's leadership.

"Colonel McCreery has had an outstanding three years here at TEAD," said General Dix during his speech at the ceremony. "Tooele Army Depot has had some great accomplishments and I'm looking forward to even more."

During the ceremony, Colonel McCreery expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone that he worked with over his three-year assignment. "It has certainly been a fast one for me and my family, and it was easy for me to lead this fine team of professionals," he stated. "I can tell you that the depot has an outstanding reputation and is well deserved."

Under Colonel McCreery, the depot vastly improved their safety record and maintained the commitment to strengthen the civilian industry through business development and strategic communication initiatives. He was also instrumental in developing and maintaining local community relations and congressional support. His initiative has set a national level precedence and given the path ahead to other installations in need of storage for conventional ammunition.

Colonel Brown thanked Colonel MccCreery and family, for such a seamless transition and transparency over the last 15 months while preparing for the change of command. "I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve as a leader of such accomplished professionals at the depot."

"From my first visit in March, I have been extremely impressed with the pride and professionalism of this 'All-Star' Team," said Colonel Brown. "The Tooele Army Depot family is tremendously capable and devoted to our Army mission and the defense of our Nation."

COL Brown come to Tooele from the Pentagon serving as the Acquisition and Logistics Team Chief within the Office of Business Transformation on the Army Staff.
