ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. -- (May 6, 2016) Employees from the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, or ATEC, received 34 awards in 15 categories for their extraordinary contributions to federal service during the 49th Annual Excellence in Federal Career Awards', or EIFCA, ceremony hosted by the Baltimore Federal Executive Board, or FEB, May 6 at Martin's West in Baltimore.
Of 293 total award nominations, employees from ATEC Headquarters and two of its subordinate organizations, the U.S. Army Evaluation Center, or AEC, and the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, or ATC, brought home 17 bronze, 15 silver, and two gold awards.
Maj. Gen. Daniel L. Karbler, ATEC's commanding general, congratulated all of the winners and thanked them for making ATEC the world class organization it is.
"To the ATEC team: you are dedicated, smart, hardworking professionals who are tremendously valuable to the entire ATEC family," said Karbler. "Thank you for all you do."
Karen Taylor, chief of staff for ATEC, praised the FEB award winners for their exemplary service to the U.S. Army, to ATEC and to the American people.
"There are so many brilliant and talented personnel within ATEC," said Taylor. "This year's winners exemplify that talent."
The purpose of the EIFCA program is to honor outstanding federal employees who have performed exceptional and meritorious work with high standards of performance in the federal government during the past year.
The EIFCA is held the first Friday in May during Public Service Recognition Week -- a week set aside to recognize the hard work and dedication of America's public servants. The EIFCA is hosted by the Baltimore FEB to honor the best in public service professionals in the Baltimore area. Supervisors from federal agencies around the Baltimore region submit nominations weeks in advance and a Blue Ribbon Panel of judges determine if the nominee's actions warrant bronze, silver or gold awards.
"The FEB allows myself and other ATEC senior leaders to recognize teammates for their valuable achievements and contributions made during the year to accomplish ATEC's important mission in developmental and operational testing and evaluation," said Taylor.
Taylor also thanked the ATEC team for making their organization such a great place to work.
"I am so proud to be a member of this great organization and to work with so many amazing and dedicated teammates," said Taylor.
