Fort Lee, Va. - The 94th Training Division conducted a ground breaking ceremony for a new training facility here May 12, 2016.
This new center will provide Quartermaster, Transportation, and Ordnance courses to Active duty and Reserve Soldiers, as well as National Guard members.
"This is a symbol of One Army School System at its finest," said Col. John W. Aarsen, assistant 94th TD commander. "It is located within close proximity to the sustainment capitol, Fort Lee, and all the resources of excellence."
The 39,127-square-foot training center will be equipped with 15 classrooms and will include a maintenance training area for transportation courses, as well as a state of the art instructional kitchen for food service specialist courses. Ninety-fourth TD instructors could potentially train 2,635 Soldiers while teaching 120 classes annually.
"The product that the facility will produce is the ready, resilient and the best trained Soldiers the world has ever seen," said Brig. Gen. Steven W. Ainsworth. "It is an investment in the future."
Construction is scheduled to start July 2016, and the center is expected to be completed by August 2017. Tentatively, the 94th TD is scheduled to occupy the building in November 2017.
