FORT BENNING, Ga., (April 6 2016) -- This week, the Fort Benning libraries join other military, special, school and public libraries worldwide in celebrating the dynamic changes that are happening in today's libraries. April 10-16 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the changing role of libraries, librarians and library workers. This year's theme is "Libraries Transform."

The Fort Benning libraries are using this year's theme "Libraries Transform" to transform their customers to Smart, Fast, Lethal and Precise customers in the use of the library and all that it has to offer.

Libraries promote distant learning by ensuring that eBooks and eAudio materials required for training or recreational enjoyment are one click away from the online catalogue or available through eResources. Martin Army Community Hospital Medical Library has access to medical eBooks, eJournals and databases. Check out the resources that are available from home at http://www.benningmwr.com/library/.

Lethal: Information is a lethal weapon required by Soldiers and their Families. The collections at the three Fort Benning libraries are developed specifically with their customers in mind. The collections support leadership development, Soldier training and recreational reading for Soldiers and their Families during none-duty times. The library has you, the customer, in mind when ordering materials, planning programs or organizing major events.

Precise: Professional librarians and trained support staff at all the Fort Benning libraries have the knowledge and training required to provide Soldiers and their Families with the best, most accurate information in the fastest turnaround time.
