ANSBACH, Germany (Aug. 27, 2014) -- To celebrate Women's Equality Day, the U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach Equal Opportunity advisers held a voter registration drive Aug. 26, 2014, at the Post Exchange at Urlas Housing and at the Community Action Center at Storck Barracks.

The event was in celebration of the 19th Amendment, which Congress ratified in 1920 and which prohibited the denial of voting rights based on sex.

The event Aug. 26 resulted in 130 newly registered voters at USAG Ansbach.
